Work in Hawke's Bay

Hawke’s Bay is New Zealand’s largest growing region

Apples, grapes, kiwifruit, peaches, nectarines, apricots are just some of the fruits that are grown in Hawke’s Bay. More than half of New Zealand’s apples are produced here and 40% of the nation’s stone fruit. Therefore, seasonal work opportunities are nearly year round.

Work opportunities now

The current season is Summer. Typical jobs that are currently available now are strawberry and raspberry picking, apple picking, vineyard work such wire lifting and leaf plucking, and roles within orchard development. In February we will have pack house work available too. We also have year round work available at a local wine bottling factory for those who prefer to work inside.

At Travellers Lodge, we have great working relationships with many reputable orchard owners and contractors and we can easily assist you with finding work in Hawkes Bay.

Before working in NZ you'll be required to have a valid work visa, bank account and IRD number, and a car is always advantageous but not always required. The Lodge owns and loans out several cars so we can always assist you with getting to work.
